Surf Systems Podcast - Episode 1: Eric "Bird" Huffman

At La Jolla Surf Systems we believe it is important to preserve the history of this iconic shop, so we have decided to record some conversations with surfers, shapers, and industry experts who have a connection with the shop and it's deep roots in La Jolla and the Southern California surf scene and beyond.

Our first episode features none other than Eric "Bird" Huffman, an early manager of La Jolla Surf Systems who is a surfboard and surf shop connoisseur and a walking encyclopedia of surf history. Bird is the legend behind Bird's Surf Shed and has had his hand in many San Diego surf shops over the years. 

Shop proprietor, Sean Brody, sat down to talk story with Bird on a recent trip to Tavarua Island in Fiji and this casual conversation was recorded on an iphone, so the audio quality is far from perfect, but Bird's stories and insight are well worth the listen.
